The City of Toronto has a goal of having 40% of its surface area covered by trees.

The Long Branch Neighbourhood Association is trying to help the City achieve this goal in our neighbourhood with dedicated programs such as:

  • Tree for Free. Distributing free native species trees to residents
  • Neighbourwoods. A joint project with UofT’s Faculty of Forestry to measure and catalogue the tree canopy in Long Branch.
  • Tree Festival.
  • Long Branch Remembers. Planting of new trees to commemorate veterans.
  • Heritage Trees. Identifying specific trees to be classed as Heritage Trees and to be protected from harm.
